Beaverton, OR — The Crimson Trace Corporation today announced its latest technological advancement – the 4th Generation Lasergrip for the 1911, dramatically improved with a new front-strap activation that gives total control of the laser, no matter how the shooter grips the pistol.
“The 1911 is America’s combat pistol, so it was natural to apply our latest technology here,” said Adam Wollander, Vice President of Marketing for Crimson Trace. “The improvements we’ve made to the 1911 Lasergrips were a direct result of customer feedback.”
In addition to the center activation enhancement, the relocated activation switch is housed in a smaller rubber wrap-around portion and this allows shooters to get a positive hold on the front-strap checkering. For those who like the look of checkering, this is an added benefit. The other major change is the development of a relief cut to allow the mainspring-retaining pin to be removed without taking the grips off.
The 4th Generation 1911 Lasergrips for Government and Commander series, called the LG-401, has passed extensive durability testing. To prove their ruggedness, sample grips went through a 3,000-round testing cycle. During the shooting, the Lasergrips were further abused by subjecting them to extreme heat and cold cycles. The results were remarkable – no visible wear and no shift in point-of-aim.
You should grab these why you can only 55 of each had been made cood become collector's paces. At this time they are not running another batch, that doesn't mean they never will! But right now they are no plans to do so. The pictures are terrible compared to how great the grip looks and works we will try to get some better pictures in the near future thanks Jim
The 3rd Generation models LG301 and LG-401, (Both $329.00 MSRP), with their ambidextrous side activation, will still be produced for those who prefer that method of actuation.
The LG-404 ($329.00 MSRP) and its companion for Officer’s sized pistols, the LG-304 ($329.00 MSRP), are now available through Crimson Trace’s broad domestic and international distribution network.
